On Thursday 7th December 16 Transition Year students visited Microsoft for the final part of the 6 week JAI Success Skills Programme. This visit was the first of its kind as Microsoft Data Centre have never opened their doors to such a visit!
Students brought their CVs and attended mock interviews based on four employment positions in Microsoft. The four positions were: Electrician, Data Centre Technician, Security Officer and Loading Bay Operative.
Students prepared very well for their interviews. They spoke confidently about their qualities and skills they have acquired and most importantly why they should be chosen for such a position.
Key personnel in Microsoft such as Mechanical Engineers and Electricians interviewed our students. Students were given excellent verbal and written feedback from their interviewers and were treated to lunch afterwards.
According to their teacher and mentor, Ms Carolann Jones, CPCC students represented themselves and their school very well.
